Vero Beach's Ancient Art International

INTRODUCTION TO ANCIENT ART INTERNATIONAL

Ancient Art International is over a forty year old business operating on two continents. AAI specializes in selling antiquities of the Greek, Roman, Gandharan, Egyptian, Middle Eastern, Holy Land and Chinese eras.

Richard Brockway (BA Liberal Arts Willamette University, BS & MS Stanford University, Harvard Business School) started the business after 20 years of study in the field working abroad and traveling the world indulging his love of archaeology and antiquities. He has participated in innumerable international art and antiques shows including the New York Armory, Chicago, Palm Beach, Washington, D.C., Boston, Providence, Naples, et al. Richard has appeared on TV multiple times, including HGTV. He has given lectures in Boston, New York, Chicago, Washington D.C., Salem, Oregon, Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, and Vero Beach, Florida.

In 2006, Richard was joined in Ancient Art International by Lynette Brockway (BA Wellesley, art history and political science) who had previously focused on collections of 18th and 19th c. British and American furniture, silver and porcelain while juggling a business career.

Ancient Art International has more than two thousand customers worldwide including museums, universities and educated individuals who return often for the joy of collecting and the satisfaction that a well-vetted work of ancient art will hold its value.

Ancient Art International was one of the very few dealers to be selected by Sothebys.com for their original online sales program in 2000. Ancient Art International is sharing its wonderful collection with a wide audience and offering personal attention and antiquities of museum quality. Ancient Art International also offers pieces at modest prices that allow beginning collectors to participate with modest investments.

Richard Brockway’s ancient glass collection was exhibited at the Hallie Ford Museum at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon in the autumn of 2007 and at the Vero Beach Museum of Art in Vero Beach, Florida, in the fall of 2008. “Ancient Mosaics from the Richard Brockway Collection” were exhibited for three months in the fall of 2009 at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art. Richard Brockway was profiled in an article in Stanford University Alumni Magazine in the summer of 2011.

Richard and Lynette co-authored an article for Art & Antiques Around Florida, Fall 2009 - Winter 2010 edition entitled:
"Collecting Ancient Glass".
Lynette wrote an article about mosaics for Art & Antiques Around Florida, 2012-2013 edition called:
"A Short History of the Mosaic or Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know!"
